REPRESENTATIVE Jeffrey Ferrer (4th district, Negros Occidental) said he is just doing his best to get re-elected for his third and last term for the May 2013 elections.
Ferrer refused to give further comment when asked for his reaction about the meeting of Eduardo Cojuangco with candidates of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) in Hacienda Balbina, Pontevedra over the weekend.
Former board member Ike Barredo's presence during the meeting was confirmed and that NPC members were reportedly instructed to make sure of the victory of Vice Governor Genaro Alvarez and former San Carlos City mayor Eugenio Lacson, gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial candidates, respectively.
"I'm just doing my best to win," said Ferrer, who is being challenged in his post by independent candidate Barredo.
The NPC withdrew the Certificate of Party Nomination from Ferrer after he declared support for the re-election bid of Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr. (TDE)
