NATIONALIST People's Coalition (NPC) district chairman, Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia, said Monday that he is happy with NPC founder Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco’s assurance of his support for the local party in the city.
Leonardia and Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson met with Cojuangco last weekend and discussed politics. The officials, however, could not give all the details of the meeting, which was attended mostly by people from the Negros Occidental’s fourth district.
Leonardia said it is a tradition in the NPC to get support from their head office and chairman emeritus.
The mayor, meanwhile, said that NPC vice mayoralty candidate Greg Gasataya definitely has the support of the party.
"He is part of the team and he has our 100 percent trust and confidence," he said.
Leonardia said they will also make sure that everything the party will give them will go down to Gasataya and candidates of the NPC and Liberal Party.
"It is our understanding that we (NPC and Liberal Party) are going to be partners in this political exercise," he added. (CNC)
