Escalante public market half-finished

ESCALANTE Mayor Melecio Yap revealed that the public market in his locality is only fifty percent completed as it awaits the financial award from the Department of Interior and Local Government supposedly rewarded several years ago.
Yap lamented that the City Government was an awardee of the DILG several years ago and is entitled to a reward of P3 Million in terms of projects.
He said that the local government is supposed to come up with its counterpart for the project, which is the construction of the public market.
So far the local government already used up its counterpart and has accomplished its part of the project, he said.
