A POLICE official warned parents on Tuesday to always check on their children in school to keep them away from illegal drugs after he received a report that a student here inserted a shabu in her notebook.
City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) head Police Superintendent Santiago Rapiz received the report from a public school principal, whose name is withheld, in Bacolod City.
Rapiz said when the student tried to check her notebook, a package wrapped in paper fell to the floor.
She picked it up and presented it to her teacher who found out that it was suspected shabu and she turned it over to the principal, Rapiz added.
Rapiz said police are now conducting further investigation to determine who might have used the said pupil to be an unwitting drug courier.
Rapiz advised the parents to always monitor their children in school.
He also asked the cooperation of the teachers to always check their students to ensure that they are not used as drug couriers.
