Guv: Capitol losing millions in Mambukal
-A A +AThursday, February 21, 2013
GOVERNOR Alfredo Marañon Jr. said the Provincial Government stands to lose at least P1 million to P2.8 million from the Mambukal Resort Operations if the power supply situation is not immediately addressed.
Marañon said 16 rooms of eight cottages at Mambukal Resort have no power supply because the Provincial Board (PB) disapproved its budget.
Ellen Vasquez, recreation and welfare services officer, informed Marañon that based on the data from the Provincial Treasurer's Office, Mambukal's revenue collection in January 2013 rose to 13 percent over the year ago level.
Last month, she said, the resort earned P3.9 million or about P465,000 more than the January 12 revenue of P3.4 Million.
But Board Member Manman Ko said Marañon should refrain from sowing confusion with such statements.
Ko appealed to Capitol to stop creating confusion relative to the non-approval of the provincial budget.
