Dengue cases in Negros continue to rise

THE cases of dengue in Negros Occidental continue to rise with already 407 cases and two deaths from January 1 to 16 this year based on admission of patients to the different private and public hospitals and City and Municipal Health Offices.

Based on the report of the Provincial Health Office, the number of cases this year is higher by 387 percent compared to the same period last year with only 86 cases and zero fatalities.

Those who died of dengue were from Bago City and Sagay City.

The areas having the most number of dengue cases are Talisay City - 58, San Carlos City - 50,Victorias City - 39, Bago City - 37, Silay City - 25, La Carlota City - 23,Escalante City - 20, Murcia - 18, Manapla - 15 and Sagay City - 14.
