3 jai alai bet collectors nabbed

OPERATIVES of Police Station 2 arrested three suspected jai alai bet collectors in Purok Cagaykay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Tuesday.
Station 2 commander Senior Inspector Robert Dejcuos identified the suspects as Amer Andrade, 31, of Purok 3, Barangay Alangilan, Bacolod; Alberto Martinez, 42, and Boddy Bantilan, 20, both residents of Purok Azucena, Barangay 6, Bacolod City.
Dejucos said the suspects were nabbed after they were caught in the act collecting bet money of jai alai at Purok Cagaykay, Barangay 2.
Police recovered from them several tipsters with codename “Fronton”, betting stubs, ballpen, and P101 bet money.
Dejucos said the suspects are presently detained at the lock up cell of Station 2.
Meanwhile, Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) officer-in-charge Senior Supt. Edgardo Ordaniel reminded all station commanders to intensify their campaign against illegal gambling within their areas of responsibility.
Ordaniel said the station commanders should intensify their campaign not only on illegal gambling but also on wanted persons and suspects who are involved in street crimes.
On the other hand, a 46-year old with arrest warrant was nabbed by operatives of Station 1 at Gatuslao Street, Barangay 12, Bacolod City Monday.
Station 1 commander P/CInsp. Danilo Francisco identified the suspect as Joselito Medallo, of Purok Sabes, Barangay Villamonte who was arrested at about 9:50 a.m. by virtue of arrest warrant for violation of Republic Act 9287 issued by Judge Francisco Pando, of MTCC Branch 4, Bacolod City with P10,000 bail recommended for his temporary liberty.
The suspect is presently detained at the lock up cell of Station 1. (MAP)
