THE Municipal Trial Circuit Court (MTCC) Branch 42 on Thursday issued the arrest warrant against a notorious theft suspect in Bacolod City who is presently detained in Station 6, a police official said.
Intelligence Branch Head P/SInsp. Jose Mulleta said Judge Fernando Elumba of MTCC Branch 42 issued the warrant immediately served on Almer Benigno, 33, of Purok 3, Magsungay, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City in Station 6 around 9:30 a.m.
Mulleta said Benigo was earlier arrested by operatives of Station 6 after he was caught in the act engaging on illegal gambling.
He said Benigo is a notorious theft suspect and was involved in several theft incidents victimizing public utility jeepney passengers in different areas of Bacolod.
On the other hand, another theft suspect was also arrested by operatives of Station 5 at Barangay 40, Bacolod Coty Wednesday afternoon.
Station 5 commander P/SInsp. Richie Gohee identified the suspect as Jonel Gersaba, 28, of Purok 3, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City.
Gohee said the suspect was arrested by virtue of arrest warrant for theft issued by Judge Francisco Pando, of MTCC Branch 4, Bacolod City.
“The arrest warrant was already final and executory for him to serve his sentence of imprisonment for two years and four months to six months,” he added. (MAP)
