Comelec bares hitch in poll results transmission

COMELEC provincial chair, Atty. Wil Arceno confirmed there are still difficulties in terms of automatic transmission of the results of the elections on May 13 in Calatrava.
Arceno said there is still no broadband signal in Calatrava, as well as in some parts of Candoni.
But he said that the transmission of the poll results in these areas will be done through the Municipal Hall.
Arceno also bared that, unlike in the previous election where Comelec partnered with Smartmatic-TIM, the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines will be operated by the Board of Election inspectors (BEIs). He said that in case of trouble, there are PCOS technicians who will be on standby.
All over Negros Occidental, Comelec hired 856 PCOS technicians who will be trained this coming April 2 to 3.
There will be one PCOS technician for every five precincts.
The BEIs for the May 13 polls will receive P4,000 per diem while the third members will receive P1,600 each. (TDE)
