Despite dismissal of inclusion plea

DON Salvador Benedicto mayoralty bet lawyer Jomax Ortiz said he is still an official candidate despite the Municipal Trial Circuit Court’s (MTCC) dismissal to his petition for inclusion.
Ortiz, who is challenging incumbent Mayor Marxlene de la Cruz, said he is still officially a candidate for mayor despite the decision and will submit an appeal with the Regional Trial Court instead of a motion for reconsideration with the MTCC.
According to de la Cruz, the dismissal of the plea for inclusion by Ortiz was penned by Judge Francisco Pando for alleged non-residence in the locality.
Ortiz, who confirmed he has received a copy of the decision of the MTCC, laughed off the decision, saying that he is still officially a candidate for mayor in the said locality and is optimistic the decision of the MTCC will be overturned by the RTC.
Ortiz reiterated he has established residence in the said locality, citing a property in the area where he stayed. (TDE)
