BACOLOD City Police Office (BCPO) has a new deputy head for operation effective Friday replacing Police Supt. Alex Dimaculangan, who is presently taking Police Intelligence Course in Iloilo City, a police official said.
BCPO officer-in-charge Senior Supt. Edgardo Ordaniel said Friday that Police Supt. Alfredo Calama-an is now the new deputy chief for operation of BCPO.
Calama-an was formerly assigned as deputy officer of Regional Headquarters Support Group in Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6), Ordaniel said.
Ordaniel said that after the schooling of Dimaculangan, he wants to be transferred to National Capital Region (NCR) because he hails from Manila.
He said that Police Supt. Leonardo Borromeo of the Public Safety Management Company is also scheduled to transfer to Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo); Calama-an will also temporarily take over his post.
Ordaniel ordered Calama-an to conduct an inspection in different police stations and to closely supervise the Commission on Elections (Comelec) checkpoint.
Calama-an said, in 2012, he was assigned as chief of police of Pasig City police station. Prior to that, he was the deputy officer of National Capital Region Police Office.
He said it’s his first time to be assigned in Bacolod City and he assured that he will do his best to help BCPO to maintain the peace and order in the city.
Police Supt. Santiago Rapiz, head of Special Operations Group (SOG), is also scheduled to transfer to Noppo.
Ordaniel said Rapiz is waiting his order from PRO-6 for his reassignment in Noppo. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
