NATIONALIST People's Coalition-Grupo Progreso (NPC-GP) mayoralty candidate Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson said that all the cases filed against him and his party mates, particularly Mayor Evelio Leonardia, were politically motivated aimed at harassing them.
“The cases were filed by the same old complainants since 2010 until now,” Sayson said during ABS-CBN’s Ihayag 2013 election candidates forum on Friday.
Sayson said that he is armed with experience and skills necessary for him to lead the city, because has served the government for 18 years.
During his term, Sayson said the City Council was also adjudged as Best SP for highly urbanized city (HUC) category all over the Philippines given by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
He said he was able to author and pushed for the passage of 16 city ordinances and 570 resolutions when he was Councilor.
With the local bills, he said he was able to give Bacolodnons a security of tenure when he was chairman of the SP Committees on Agriculture and Housing.
He also reported that the current City Council is reviewing the ordinances passed by the Council in the 1950s, 1960s and in later years to determine those that are no longer attuned or applicable in the present situation.
He also mentioned the unity among the Grupo Progreso candidates.
He urged the Bacolodnons to think BIG (Basic services, Investments, and Job generation) so that the progress and development of Bacolod will be continued and sustained. (Carla N. Canet)
