SAN Juan Representative JV Ejercito Estrada welcomed the support and endorsement of his senatorial bid by former Ambassador Eduardo Cojuangco and his allies in Negros Occidental.

“I am very grateful for Amb. Cojuangco’s support and, as previously promised, if elected, I will be the voice of Negros in the Senate,” Ejercito Estrada said in reaction to news reports of the business tycoon’s endorsement of his candidacy.

Ejercito Estrada has placed consistently in the top twelve of senatorial surveys and the recent support from local NPC-LP leaders will boost his bid.

Ejercito Estrada said the association with Mr. Cojuangco goes way back. The latter is a very close friend of his father, former President Joseph Estrada.

In his previous sorties, JV has sat down with sugar industry leaders and promised support for them, particularly in preparation for the full implementation of the AFTA in 2015.

Ejercito Estrada also met political leaders in the province who have earlier vowed to support his candidacy.

The solon is half-Negrosanon owing to his mother, San Juan Mayor Guia Gomez, who hails from Silay.
