The Division of Bacolod City will implement the modeling of the senior high school for the school years 2011-2012 and 2012-2013, and thereafter, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Department of Education (DepEd).
Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS) is the chosen model senior high school where senior high school graduates whose skills and competence have been fully developed, may choose to look for a job, opt for private entrepreneurship, or proceed to enroll in college.
In relation to this, the City Council of Bacolod City has authorized Bacolod Mayor and Congressman-elect Evelio Leonardia to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with DepEd-Bacolod for the implementation of the model senior high school in BCNHS.
The MOA will be entered into by Leonardia representing the City of Bacolod and Bacolod schools division Superintendent Gemma Ledesma representing DepEd.
The MOA indicated that the Division of Bacolod City is joining the Aquino administration in its thrust of increasing the number of school years of basic education in order to improve its quality.
Through the support given to it by Leonardia in the implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Program, the division has manifested its willingness to carry out the modeling of the program.
The Division of Bacolod City will implement the model senior high school pursuant to the K to 12 Basic Education Program in BCNHS and will provide human, financial, technological and material resources, among others, through the partnership with the City Government, DepEd offices, and other stakeholders.
