RE-ELECTED Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said his inauguration will only be simple and that he will be taking his oath before Judge Renato Muñez of the Cadiz City Regional Trial Court.
Maranon's inauguration and oath-taking, along with Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and the members of the Provincial Board, is set this Saturday, June 30.
"It will be a simple ceremony with no fanfare," Marañon said on Monday.
He earlier welcomed the positive response of Lacson and opposition board members who acceded to his request to join him in the inauguration and oath-taking this Saturday.
Lacson, who ran under the Nationalist People's Coalition ticket, defeated Maranon's running mate, Provincial Board Member Melvin Ibañez.
Lacson himself confirmed that he and other members of the Love Negros Team will join Marañon in his oath-taking, as he believed that all provincial officials should take oath together for the love of the province.
Marañon, when asked to comment on the statement that Lacson he is excited to work with him, said: "Same here."
Lacson said the opposition will be supportive of Marañon but will not be submissive to him.
