Two men injured in road mishaps-A A +A

TWO men were injured in two separate traffic accidents in Bacolod City Thursday, a traffic official said.
Investigators identified the victim as Benjie Salarda, 31, overseas Filipino worker, a resident of Santa Clara Subdivision, Barangay Banago; and Alexander Malunes Jr., 37, of Rio Vista Homes, Barangay Taculing, Traffic Management Unit chief Levy Pangue said.
Investigation showed that around 1:40 a.m., while Salarda was driving his Nissan Sentra along Lacson street flyover, he accidentally bumped the concrete barrier of the bridge.
Pangue said Salarda sustained injuries in his body and was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment.
He said Salarda was also observed to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor during the incident.
He added that he already met with the head of Department of Public Works and Highways to put up additional lights in the concrete barrier in the flyover to avoid traffic accident.
Malunes, on the other hand was injured when he was accidentally bumped by a Nessan Sentra driven by Leonides Decena, 71, of Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, Pangue said.
He said around 5:30 p.m., Decena was driving his vehicle along of Luzuriaga Street turning right to north of Mabini Street, he accidentally hit the Honda XRM driven by Malunes.
Malunes, who sustained injuries, was travelling from south to north of Mabini Street during the incident, and he was rushed to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, Pangue added.
