A HUGE number consumers flocked to the opening of the newest hypermarket in town -- Puregold Price Club Inc., located at Sto. Nino Stop, Barangay 1, Bacolod City -- up to its closing time Wednesday.
The grand opening was graced by Puregold director Vincent Go, Vice President for Operation Tonio de los Santos, Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella, Vice Mayor Greg Gasataya and councilors Wilson Gamboa Jr.,
Em Ang, Kalaw Puentevella, Ana Marie Palermo, as well as Ray and Betty Moleño.
"We are proud to say that Puregold Bacolod is their very first Store in the Visayas region. We think that our first store being in Bacolod is a very good decision because it fits the market that we are looking for. Bacolod is a nice and progressive place which is a mix of urban and rural but and they are positive that Puregold will click here," Delos Santos said.
He added that people will surely come to the store because of the shopping experience that we will be offering.
"Wherever they come, we want them to visit and shop at Puregold. Puregold has employed a hundred people to work in their Bacolod store and we are very proud to say that almost 99 percent of their employees are from Metro Bacolod. It is always their commitment to local government to employ as many locals as possible.
All their suppliers for their fresh produced such as fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, seafoods as it is best to go local especially for fresh because our price will be very competitive and we are also helping the local entrepreneurs to have business relationship with Puregold. It has always been their direction," he said.
'Tindahan ni Aling Puring'
Puregold teaches and trains small and medium scale entrepreneurs such as sari-sari stores owners, eateries, canteens, catering, and resellers. This is one effective strategy to maintain our partnership with local entrepreneurs through the “Tindahan ni Aling Puring” program.
"We want them to become a member of the Tindahan ni Aling Puring program as our quest of helping them improve their business. When you become a member, one will be enjoying a lot of benefits.
One is the Ka Negosyo sessions wherein they teach entrepreneurs on how to manage their business better. We teach them what product to sell.
Usually store owners sell what they like. But it’s different on what their customers would like to buy. That is a common pitfall of sellers.
For example, one sells shampoo in bottles and toothpaste in tubes, but their buyers actually wants those in sachets and that is what Puregold is offering. We offer sachets that are cheaper.
We offer Peso Garantisado wherein one will have 20 percent savings. We also provide signages to Sari Sari stores. We also provide them promo packs so that they will have additional profit.
For a P5,000 to P10,000 capital, they can start their own sari-sari store business and to sustain that, they provide promos.
Negros would have more than 40,000 sari-sari stores so the size of that pie is very big and we think that the opportunity is very huge," delos Santos said.
They also raffle off multicabs, cars to help the entrepreneurs with their business and a lot of their programs.
He said at Puregold, its always bago (new), always panalo (win), always mura (affordable), and always may promo, always panalo.
Cars to be raffled off
They will be launching the Toyota Vios promo this October.
One will have more chance of winning because that promo is specifically designed for Bacolod.
"We will be giving away two cars for Bacolodnons and Negrenses."
