THE Implan MassKara 2013 will kick off today, September 30, at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) headquarters for the MassKara Festival celebration, said BCPO acting director Senior Superintendent Edgardo Ordaniel.
The ceremony for the Implan (implementation plan) will be attended by the BCPO and 303rd Infantry Brigade personnel and troopers, task force multipliers, local government officials, and volunteers.
Ordaniel said starting October 1 to 20, several policemen will be deployed in different areas of Bacolod to ensure the peace and order of the festivities.
He also expects that the augmentation personnel from Police Regional Office will arrive in the city this week.
Ordaniel said the police will secure the six venues for the festival. These are the Reclamation area, Bacolod public plaza, New Government Center, Panaad Park and Stadium, Lacson Street, including some malls in the city.
Ordaniel said about 800 policemen will be deployed to various areas in Bacolod during the festival, and about 80 personnel from Regional Public Safety Battalion will also augment the BCPO forces.
He said the BCPO will also tap about 200 army reservists, 200 members of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team, and the Explosive Ordnance Division personnel of the 303rd IB to help ensure the peace and order.
Ordaniel said the BCPO is ready to handle in any crisis such bombing, and robbery, among others, as he said that last Friday, the city police successfully conducted a bomb drill at the city plaza to ensure the safety of the public during the MassKara. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa/Sun.Star Bacolod)
