FIRE razed an auto parts store in Rizal Street, Barangay 21, Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon, although no person was reported injured, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
BFP head, Chief Inspector Bartolome Beliran, said at about 1:15 p.m. yesterday, they received a call from a concerned citizen informing them the Negros International Auto Parts, Inc. was on fire.
He said several fire trucks were immediately dispatched to the area and the blaze was put out at around 1:50 p.m. The fire reached the first alarm status.
The business establishment is owned by Carlos Keng Seng.
Investigation showed that the fire started at the third floor of the building, triggered by an energized electrical appliance or a cutting tool.
Beliran said they are still conducting further investigation to determine the damages resulting from the incident.
He said that most of the items stocked at the third floor were auto parts, cords, and some appliances.
Beliran reminded the public to always check their electrical connection, and if an appliance smokes or has unusual smell, they must unplug it immediately and have it repaired.
