AN ELECTION officer faces administrative charges for non-payment of honoraria of teachers who served poll duties during the May elections.
Provincial election supervisor, Jessie Suarez, said on Monday that Hinobaan election officer Allan Haro is now facing charges for grave misconduct before the Commission on Election (Comelec)-National Office after he allegedly was not able to release the honoraria of the teachers including the support staff.
"The administrative charges was already resolved about 20 days ago and is incorporated as a requirement for the release of the honoraria," he said.
Haro was given 10 days to submit a counter-affidavit which is about to expire, Suarez said.
"I am personally following it up with the Comelec finance department and it is expected to be released before the October 28 barangay elections, he said.
The payment will be coursed through acting Hinobaan election officer Leonor Layda, Suarez said.
