570 cops arrive at BCPO-A A +A

ABOUT 570 police personnel from the Western Visayas Police Regional Office (PRO) and Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Noppo) arrived on Thursday at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) as augment forces during the MassKara Festival celebration.
BCPO acting director Edgardo Ordaniel said about 470 personnel from PRO and another 100 personnel from Noppo were deployed to BCPO to help the city police maintain the peace and order during the festivities.
He said 150 out of the 570 police personnel will be assigned at Police Station 1, another 150 personnel will be assigned at Police Station 2, 100 at Police Station 4, and another 14 personnel at police stations 6 and 8.
The police officers will be deployed to different festival sites in the city to secure the safety of the revelers, he added.
Ordaniel said he has ordered city police stations to conduct checkpoints within their areas of responsibility.
He added that about 12 personnel from the Philippine Army and 50 from the Special Action Force also help the city police. The SAF troopers were tasked to conduct 24/7 checkpoint in major thoroughfares of Bacolod.
