THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) in Bacolod City said its collection increased due to the impact of its Alien Mapping Program done by its operatives from Metro Manila.
Mita Chuvy Arguelles, former alien control officer of BI-Bacolod, said that their collection reached to P1,985,964 which is bigger compared to the previous weeks.
Several overstaying foreigners voluntarily went to their office and paid their dues, she said.
The BI caters to several transactions pertaining to foreigners in the country to process for the application for extension of their stay in the country for tourist visa, issuance of special working permits, student visa and matters pertaining to their stay in the country.
Arguelles said foreigners could stay in the country for 16 months from the date of entry and they could be given an extension of 59 days.
After their stay and that they are given the exit clearance when they leave the country.
Sixteen undocumented foreigners were arrested by the Alien Mopping operatives here in Bacolod and Negros Occidental during their one week operation.
Faizal Hussin, Special Assistant to the Commissioner of the BI warned that illegal alien should immediately to the BI office to correct their documents because they will be coming back anytime to arrest them.
He said the illegal aliens face deportation if they continue their illegal stay in the country.
