SECOND District Board Member Salvador Escalante said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) will start deliberations on the 2014 proposed provincial budget on November 12.
Escalante, chairman of the committee on finance and appropriation, said although his committee on finance will lead the deliberations, all members of the SP are also invited.
"That's why we have given the SP members three weeks to study the budget proposal and prepare questions," he said.
Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. submitted last October 16 the proposed P2.295 billion provincial budget for year 2014, higher by more than P200 million compared to this year's budget of P2.02 billion.
Vice Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said he has asked the members of the Provincial Board to give time and effort to study the budget.
Lacson said he has scheduled the committee hearings every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and he expects the board members’ participation during the hearings.
Of the proposed budget of P2.295 billion, P2.041 billion will be taken from the Internal Revenue Allotment; P83.959 million, from the General Fund Local Income; and P169.84 million, from the Economic Enterprise (Local Income).
