THE Office of the Building Official (OBO) in Bacolod City has issued a notice of violation to the Bacolod Northbound Terminal operated by businessman Crispin Chua.
Acting OBO head Isidro Sun said his office, represented by building inspector Josemaria Makilan, checked the terminal located at Lacson St., Barangay Banago last December 3 and they found two violations under the National Building Code and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.
The violation is in Section 3 stating that the operator failed to obtain building permit. It also violated Section 39 for failure to obtain a certificate of occupancy from OBO.
The violations under Rule 11, subject for administrative sanctions, were the extension of the business establishment without building permit and use or occupancy of extension building without a certificate of occupancy.
The inspection was conducted after Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. requested for it by way of a resolution passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
Gamboa requested the OBO, City Engineer’s Office, and Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board through the Office of the City Mayor to conduct a joint ocular/physical inspection of the Bacolod Northbound Terminal.
He said the northbound terminal is impressed with public interest as the same is of vital use to the constituents of Bacolod City.
It is expected that it should be of presentable standards being the gateway to the towns and cities in northern Negros Occidental.
Gamboa noted that the present structure inside the terminal obviously defies a uniform standard or design and is perceived more as an accumulation of discordant temporary structures.
