Councilor submits revised Soce to Comelec Manila-A A +A

BACOLOD City Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. said he submitted his Statement of Contribution and Expenditures (Soce) before the Finance Department of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Manila Thursday in compliance with the advice of City Election Registrar Mavil Majarucon-Sia.
He said that he was with several elected officials from other cities and provinces who also had deficiencies in their Soces.
Gamboa was in the list of 424 sitting officials around the country ordered to vacate their posts for failing to submit their Soces.
However on Thursday, upon his submission of his Soce using the new form, a Comelec officer issued him a certificate confirming that he has complied with the requirements.
"I talked to the Comelec officer and I was told that I have now fully complied with the requirements. As I was told by Atty. Majarucon-Sia, there is nothing to worry and it was true because Comelec Manila has just received the corrected form of my Soce," said Gamboa, who first submitted his Soce using the old form before the deadline last June 13.
Gamboa used the old form that he also used after the 2010 elections.
"I was not aware that there was a new form. I just don't know if I received the new form,” he said.
