RAINS will continue for three days due to a low pressure area (LPA) that entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the Provincial Disaster Management Division Program Division (PDMPD) said.

Melvin Fiero, of the PDMPD, said that continuous rains could last until Wednesday or Thursday this week unless there is another weather disturbance that will enter PAR.

Fiero, however, said that no flooding was reported despite the rains in the northern and central Negros for the past several days.

He said the LPA did not develop into a typhoon because it was dissipated by the northeast monsoon.

He added that the cold weather in the country will continue until February due to the cold front brought about by the melting of the ice in Siberia.

The coldest temperature in the province was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius.
