THE rainy days may extend until next week due to the cloud formation in the country, said an official of the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division Monday.
Eric Villaluna, head of the (PDMPD), said Monday that the weather bureau forecasted earlier that the rainy days could last until Wednesday this week due to a Low Pressure Area (LPA) that entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR); however, based on their latest satellite monitoring, a cloud formation may bring rains until next week.
The Provincial Health Office (PHO) has warned Negrenses of the various illnesses related to the ongoing cold weather.
Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, provincial health officer, said Monday that school children are vulnerable to colds and cough because of the cold and rainy weather condition.
Tumimbang reminded parents to always let their children wear coats or jackets when going to school.
"Eat food rich in Vitamin C to increase resistance. When taking a bath early in the morning, heat the water first because viral infections rise during the rainy season," Tumimbang said.
He also reminded the men to minimize drinking to prevent road accidents especially those driving motorcycles.
"Men drink so that they will feel hot because of the cold weather but they should not drive when drunk," Tumimbang said.
