BACOLOD City Mayor Monico Puentevella earlier announced that the revamp among department heads of the City Government has started.
City General Services Office (GSO) head Jerome Solinap, who also chairs the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), said the BAC members had tendered their courtesy resignation last month.
Solinap said they wanted to give the mayor a free hand to choose the BAC members especially that Linda Ablanque, former head of the Department of Social Services and Development, resigned as vice chairman last December by reason of her retirement.
Acting Office of the Building Official (OBO) head Isidro Sun had also resigned from the BAC so it is now up to the mayor to decide whether to reappoint them, he said.
Other members of the BAC were engineers Ephraim Hechanova and Max Sillo of the City Engineer’s Office and City Environment and Natural Resources Office, respectively.
Members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) were City Engineer Belly Aguillon, Allan Agbones, Josephus Serna and Xenia Locsin.
The members of the TWG are being appointed by the BAC chairman, Solinap said.
If he will be retained by the mayor, he will be the one to appoint the TWG members, he said.
Meanwhile, Puentevella issued Memorandum No. 2014-02 on January 13 designating Giovanni Balalilhe as acting city treasurer replacing Annabelle Badajos who also retired.
Puentevella on Tuesday said he will also effect a reassignment among other heads of offices to put them where they fit.
"I have to put my people now, and assign or even retain those who are indeed effective in their positions. The revamp will take its full swing next week,” the mayor said.
