SENIOR Superintendent Edgardo Ordaniel and Senior Superintendent Milko Lirazan were listed as candidates for the top permanent positions in Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo).
Chief Superintendent Josephus Angan, director of Police Regional Office in Western Visayas said Thursday that there are five candidates for city police director and three candidates for provincial police director.
Ordaniel, acting city police director, and Lirazan, acting police provincial director, were included in the lists that might be released in the next two months for the approval of the local executives, he added.
Angan said some of the candidates are not from Western Visayas.
“In the Philippine National Police, no one among us is indispensable. You will get a chance to be assigned in other areas and it’s a normal process in the organization,” he said.
Angan said that, as part of the process, the PNP Directorate for Personnel determines the qualified officers for the positions of city director and provincial director.
He said the regional headquarters will also submit the lists of candidates which will be processed by the senior officers’ placement and promotions board, and then it will be forwarded to PNP Chief Allan Purisima and then to the National Police Commission (NPC) for the confirmation.
“If there was a confirmation, it will go back to the Directorate for Personnel and they will communicate to the regional office and send the list of candidates to the concerned local executives,” Angan added.
He said the local executive will choose from among the candidates supplied by the PNP.
