THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) received Thursday the official relief order of Senior Superintendent Edgardo Ordaniel, who will be replaced by Sr. Supt. Larry Decena as the new director of the BCPO.
Superintendent Jefferson Descallar, deputy for operation of BCPO, said they received a radio message on Thursday from Police Regional Office-Western Visayas (PRO-6) indicating general order number 98-99 relieving Ordaniel.
He added that he is yet to receive an official order from Police Regional Office-Western Visayas on his relief as BCPO head.
Ordaniel, who was scheduled to return to Bacolod City tomorrow, Saturday, he said that as soon as he gets the relief order from the regional office, he will ask for the holding of a turn-over of command. Read more here.
Descallar said Ordaniel was reassigned to the Regional Placement Holding and Accounting Unit (RPHAU) while waiting for possible higher position.
Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella said Decena will serve Bacolod for only a few months, because he is set to retire this year.
Decena served as the officer-in-charge of Guimaras Police Provincial Office and chief of Police Community Relations Division in Western Visayas.
Descallar said it is the discretion of PRO-6 director Chief Superintendent Josephus Angan whether a turn-over of command between Ordaniel and Decena will be held.
Descallar said that anytime Thursday, they are expecting Decena to report to BCPO and hold a command conference with all the station commanders.
Ordaniel served Bacolod for almost one year as acting city police director.
Ordaniel said he’s thankful that he was given a chance to serve the City of Bacolod. He’s also thankful to the personnel of BCPO who helped him maintain the peace and order in the city.
