Saturday, March 1, 2014
BACOLOD City Police Office (BCPO) Director Senior Supt. Larry Decena warned Friday all BCPO cops not to engage in illegal activities and not to violate the Philippine National Police (PNP) rules or else, they will be pre-charged or will be relieved.
Decena issued the warning after he received information that one of the BCPO personnel, who was in civilian attire, was seen by bystanders walking along the Bacolod Central Market drunk and untidy on Thursday morning.
“Policemen are not allowed to take any intoxicating liquor while performing their duties,” he said.
He said that he ordered all station commanders to monitor their personnel to ensure that they are not under the influence of liquor while on duty.
Decena said he will call the attention of the policeman, and the BCPO will also conduct an investigation on his actions.
“We cannot afford to tolerate this kind of behavior, we will discipline him. They should act in accordance with ethical manners,” Decena said.
Since Decena assumed his post at BCPO two weeks ago, four policemen have been relieved from their respective posts in different police stations after complaints were filed against them.
Those relieved include Police Officer 2 Rommel Beato and PO3 Nelson Guinalon of Police Station 1, PO3 Docelio Pachoro of Traffic Management Unit (TMU), and Senior Police Officer 1 Dante Victor Escorpion of Police Station 2.
Decena said he will continue to relieve policemen who are violating the PNP rules and those who are facing any complaint regarding their job as a member of the police force.
