Guv: ‘Bingo Milyonaryo’ legal in Negros-A A +A

BINGO Milyonaryo can operate in Negros Occidental, because the operator has already secured a franchise from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said Tuesday that he would prefer Bingo Milyonaryo, because it’s legal unlike other number games.
"Because it’s legal, I am for it because the government will have its share from its proceeds. I have been saying that I am against illegal gambling. If Bingo Milyonaryo has the franchise then they can operate,” the governor said.
Bingo Milyonaryo is a lottery game that has five games in every draw that takes place three times a day. Players can bet in two ways, either by betting in the nearest Bingo Milyonaryo retailer or by playing through an android phone or tablet.
Players can choose and bet among the five available games for P5 per game and can win up to P4 million.
The Great Platinum Online, represented by Danilo Ramos, is the authorized territorial dealer in Negros Occidental, said Jose Ferdinand Rojas II in his letter to Marañon.
Belen Alvarez, Negros Occidental head of the PCSO, said Bingo Milyonaryo is already operating in Bacolod City and some parts of northern and southern Negros Occidental.
Meanwhile, Manapla Mayor Lourdes Escalante said on Tuesday she wants to know first what the town can get from the operation of Bingo Milyonaryo before they allow it to operate.
"We want to be transparent. We want to know its mechanics and the social benefits the town can get from it," the mayor added.
