THE Philippine National Police (PNA) Directorate for Personnel and Records Management has issued a list of three senior police officers who are candidates for director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo).
Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. will choose from among three who will be appointed to the post.
Senior Superintendent Milko Lirazan, who has served as acting provincial police director since July last year, is also included in the list sent by the National Police Commission (Napolcom) to Marañon on Aptil 14.
The two other recommendees are Senior Supt. Dominador Tubon, chief of the PNP Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies, and Senior Supt. Larry Decena, presently officer-in-charge of the Bacolod City Police Office.
According to Napolcom Resolution No. 2014-92, Lirazan, Tubon and Decena are qualified and fit to assume the position of provincial police director of Negros Occidental.
Lirazan has served as acting Noppo director for almost 10 months. Marañon requested for his return last July. Earlier, he was relieved as Noppo officer-in-charge by the Western Visayas Police Regional Office at the start of the election period.
The governor had already recommended to the PNP national headquarters the permanent appointment of Lirazan as provincial police director last year yet.
For his part, Decena said he was not aware that his name was included in the list.
Lirazan said that being the acting director, he can stay on as the permanent police director of Noppo.
