ABOUT 190 policemen will be deployed to the Panaad Park and Sports Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan to secure the safety of the public and the players for the Group B 2014 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President’s Cup.
Senior Superintendent Larry Decena, officer-in-charge of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Sunday policemen will be deployed starting tomorrow, May 6, until May 10.
He said he already submitted the security plan to the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas (PRO-6) for the augmentation of policemen from different police stations in Bacolod.
Decena said that in every police station, 10 policemen will be assigned in Panaad Park.
Thirty personnel each from the City Mobile Group, Bacolod City Public Safety Company, and BCPO will be part of the security teams.
Decena said policemen will also be deployed in different billeting areas.
Aside from Ceres La Salle FC Philippines, he said players from Turkmenistan, Chinese Taipei, and Democratic People’s Republic of Korea have arrived in the city.
Decena reminded the public to be vigilant while watching the game at the Panaad Park to avoid any untoward incident. (MAP)
