Binay: Work first before campaign-A A +A

ALTHOUGH Vice President Jejomar Binay has confirmed that he is running for president in 2016, he said his work will remain his focus for now.
"Yes, I will be a candidate. But we will continue with our work first. There is a time for that," said Binay, who also serves as chairman of the Housing Urban Development Coordinating Council.
Binay was in Bacolod City Saturday as guest speaker of the DeMolay Conclave 2014 Grand Master’s Night and Awarding Ceremonies.
For those who think that he is already campaigning for 2016, he said, “Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, isn’t it? So, whatever they would say that's their opinion.”
Binay said that for incumbent officials, it can’t be really distinguished whether they already gearing up for the next elections.
“Alam mo hindi mo kasi ma-distinguish 'yan especially for incumbents. Ako, may trabaho rin. May pupuntahan ako, titingnan ko 'yung mga projects namin, housing projects namin. Tapos sabi nila nangangampanya, bahala na kayo,” the Vice President said.
Asked for his reaction on Negros Occidental Governir Alfredo Marañon's early endorsement of Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II, his expected opponent in the 2016 elections, Binay said, "Well, that's his right. We'll have to respect that."
Marañon made the endorsement for Roxas in a dinner during the DILG official’s visit in the province Thursday, in the presence of more than 20 mayors.
