TWO teenagers who were reported missing Wednesday while fishing in a flooded river in Moises Padilla were found dead in the neighboring Isabela town Thursday.

The bodies of Michael Pueda, 17, and Ronil Miraflores, 19, were found in a river in Hacienda Antolanga, Barangay, Tinongan, Isabela, according to a report of Isabela Municipal Police Station.

Pueda and Miraflores, and their companion Jason Baladjay were carried away by strong current in Barangay Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla.
Baladjay is still missing as of press time.

Survivors Dexter Pidal, 18, and Larry Baladjay, 22, said they went fishing at around 10 a.m. Wednesday, and amid heavy rains, a flashflood raged.

Both said they tried to save their companions but the strong current hindered their efforts.

Earlier, the two fishermen-brothers from Himamaylan City who were reported missing returned home safely Tuesday evening, the Provincial Disaster Management Division under the Office of the Governor confirmed.

Magbanua brothers Jun-Jun Magbanua, 20 and Soysoy, 18, of Purok Mabulo, Barangay San Juan sought shelter in the neighboring Hinigaran town when they encountered heavy rains and strong waves.

Also on Tuesday, two injured fishermen were rescued along the coastal area of Pontevedra town in southern Negros.
