THE Diocese of Bacolod led by Bishop Vicente Navarra will conduct a Prayer Vigil for Integrity, Accountability and Transparency in Public Service after the 6 p.m. mass at the San Sebastian Cathedral tonight.

It said in a statement that the prayer vigil aims to “raise the awareness of the faithful for the need of authentic public service that is marked with integrity, accountability and transparency, not with cover-ups, corruption and self-serving agenda.”

In the context of the present issues on Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) and Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP), the faithful are looking for the truth, the Diocese added.

The prayer vigil is an expression of condemnation of the perceived partiality and “partisanship” in the investigation and that of corruption as a whole, it said, adding that “(a)t the same time, it is a movement for hope that through the guidance of the Holy Spirit our government officials will pursue the common good of the Filipino people.”

During the prayer vigil, there will be talks on the “Three Branches of the Government and DAP,” “Issues on DAP,” and “Integrity, Accountability and Transparency in the Biblical Perspective” followed by the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

Fr. Felix Pasquin, rector of the San Sebastian Cathedral, said: “Together as a community and family of God, we will pray for enlightenment because of too much confusion that is happening in the country. This is a very alarming situation because two independent branches of government are clashing on the issue of DAP.”
