Cabreros named 3rd ID commander

BRIGADIER General Harold Cabreros will take over as commander of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division (ID) in rites set December 23 at Camp Macario Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz led Lieutenant General Eduardo Año, commanding general of the Philippine Army.

Cabreros will succeed Brigadier General Reynaldo Mutiangpili, who will retire from the military service on December 27.

Before his assignment as 3rd ID commander covering Panay and Negros, Cabreros served as deputy commander of the Eastern Mindanao Command.

He was also the commander of the Army’s 1003rd Brigade of the 10th Infantry Division, the main unit in the focused military operations that neutralized the New People’s Army’s (NPA’s) top rank leader in Mindanao, Leoncio Pitao also known as “Kumander Parago. ”

His stint with the 1003rd Brigade included the Project Quest for Peace that resulted in the clearing of NPA infested areas in Davao del Norte and in some parts of Davao City through the IPSP “Bayanihan.”

A native of Alicia, Isabela Province, Cabreros graduated from the Philippine Military Academy in 1984. He earned his Master of Science in Public Management degree at the National College of Business and Arts in Quezon City.
