Enforcer files direct assault charges vs SAF policeman

Saturday, February 25, 2017

A TRAFFIC enforcer in Bacolod City filed direct assault charges against a member of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) based in Sagay City, Negros Occidental Friday afternoon.

Senior Inspector Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 4, said Bobby Luberas filed the criminal complaint against Police Officer 1 John Chan before the City Prosecutor’s Office.

Chan was caught on a cellular phone video hitting Luberas three times as witnessed by two other traffic enforcers, who failed to defend their colleague because they saw the policeman’s gun.

The SAF personnel was disarmed and restricted while under investigation due to the incident that happened last February 11.

Chan will also face administrative charges, if proven guilty of the offense. /GYM
