Negrense speaker imparts John C. Maxwell learnings

Monday, June 19, 2017

US-BASED Negrense motivational speaker Sunny Diego imparted his learnings from John C. Maxwell on leadership and personal growth, specifically on the 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, during his talk at Ikthus Equipping Center in Bacolod City over the weekend.

John C. Maxwell (JCM) is an international leadership expert, coach, and author who had sold more than 21 million books. He is the founder of The John C. Maxwell Company and Equip, a non-profit organization that has trained six million leaders in 177 countries worldwide.

Diego, a JCM certified team member, said, “In life, if you have an opportunity, then go out and grab it. That’s leadership. Growth does not just happen. It is not natural. You have to grow it yourself. When a business exists for many years and it does not grow, then the one running it does not have a good leadership. Don’t assume that your business will just grow without the right leadership and plan. It has to grow according to your leadership.”

“A lot of people don’t want to learn. There has so much fear in people,” he said.

But for the JCM circle, “Fear does not exist. Our fear only comes from feeling of losing something or somebody dear to us. But it is all about feelings. People don’t take risk because of conformity to their present situation. But if they will take a little risk, that will attract growth,” said Diego, who considers being a part of the JCM team as a privilege and honor.

“I love motivating and inspiring people. What I am doing right now is very fulfilling because I do it with passion. I love to inspire and motivate people about leadership. I feel like it is a calling for me,” he added.

Diego started his motivational talks in Bacolod last year, resulting to many people changing their mindset and attitude for the better.

“We need to keep our values and we don’t teach the core leadership to minds that are just going down the drain. Crab mentality is rampant everywhere.”

“I urge you to continue to set as an example to the next generations whether in deeds and in words,” he said.

Diego, 39, is the son of former University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Math professor Crispina Vedra Diego, and now school principal of Tangub Christian Academy Inc.
