AN ESTIMATED P100,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized while seven persons, including a top drug personality, were arrested during a raid inside a hotel in Bacolod City, on Wednesday evening, August 2.

Bacolod City Police Office Acting Director Jack Wanky identified the target subject as Dindo Barcillo of Silay City, a level 2 high-value target of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region.

Around 7:45 p.m., authorities raided a hotel room where Barcillo sold illegal drugs to a police agent for P500.

Wanky said Barcillo yielded two big sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” worth P100,000, an improvised .38 caliber revolver, and the P500 marked money.

Six others, who were holding a pot session inside the hotel room, were also arrested.

Police identified them as Niko Manuel Luis Lizares, Karl Ocampo, Mikael Nicholas Zayco, Marvin Magno, Mariano Villarosa, and Robert John Herman.

Confiscated from the six suspects were several small and big sachets of shabu, a weighing scale, and drug paraphernalia.

Wanky said the suspects were about to hold a party when the police arrived.

They were believed to be from prominent families in Negros Occidental, Wanky said.

All suspects are detained at Police Station 1 for the filing of drug charges.
