No decision yet on mayor’s request for new Hinigaran police chief

Saturday, August 12, 2017

SENIOR Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr., director of Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office, on Friday, August 10, said he cannot yet decide on the replacement of the chief of Hinigaran Municipal Police Station.

Castil said he received a letter on Djumira from Hinigaran Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo requesting him to relieve Senior Inspector Lawrence Bathan from his post due to the police chief’s supposedly not so good performance in the campaign against illegal drugs.

The mayor also named the police chief he wanted to be assigned in the town.

However, Castil said he cannot make an immediate decision on the mayor's request because it has to undergo a process.

Also, Castil said the police officer that Arceo mentioned in his letter is no longer a member of Nocppo and is presently assigned in another office.

Bathan replaced Senior Inspector Jerald Muya in Hinigaran last June.
