Hinigaran suspect yields P100,000 in illegal drugs

A SUSPECTED member of the Ramos drug group in Hinigaran town, Negros Occidental was arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Quiwi Saturday morning, September 9.

Joey Nillosan, 40, a Level 2 high value target drug personality of Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Nocppo), was cornered after he sold
"shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P1,000 to a police agent.

Chief Inspector Jake Barila, town police chief, said they also recovered from Nillosan 10 sachets of shabu worth P100,000, three .45 caliber pistol with magazines and an extra magazine, and drug paraphernalia.

Nillosan is detained at the station and will be charged for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) and Section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia) of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Last June, the town police under Senior Inspector Jerald Muya, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Island Region, arrested Nillosan after they raided a suspected drug den at Pantalan-Daan, Barangay I. Nineteen others were also caught playing a card game inside the nipa hut.

The drug raid led to a recovery of 23 sachets of shabu worth P13,000 and two improvised tooters.

Barila said the police and PDEA failed to file drug charges against Nillosan under inquest proceedings which led to his release for the regular filing of the case.

In 2014, Nillosan was able to post bail for drug and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition charges.

Three persons were arrested holding a “pot session” in a cemetery at Kabankalan City Sunday afternoon.

Police identified the suspects as Romeo Piornato Jr., 41; Eddie Yap Jr., 44; and Antonio Decena Jr., 27, all residents of Cauayan town.

Operatives confiscated from them a sachet of shabu worth P1,000, two improvised tooters, and plastic sachets.

Last Friday, Delfin Pun-an Jr., 40, of Purok Patuloy, Zone 4, Barangay Mambulac, Silay City was arrested for sale and possesion of illegal drugs.

He is a street level target drug suspect in the city.

Police seized from Pun-an eight sachets of shabu worth P5,000, the P300 marked money, and P40 in cash.

In Bacolod City, drug suspect Ramon Bertudez Sr., 54, of Barangay 34; Virgilio Lopez, 32; and Mary Grace Sernal, 23, both of Silay City, were arrested in a buybust at Purok Mapalaron, Barangay 22, Bacolod City last Friday.

The three suspects were caught possessing three sachets of shabu worth P10,000, the P1,000 marked money, two improvised tooters, lighter, and P6,420 in cash.

Two were also arrested while holding a “pot session” at Purok Lison, Barangay 1 on Friday.

Police recovered from Jun Jun Rosario, 39 and Jerrymiah Malanday, 18 six sachets of shabu worth P2,000, the P200 marked money, an improvised tooter, lighter, P350 in cash, a .45 caliber pistol, magazine, and seven live ammunition of the same firearm.
