Tuesday, November 14, 2017

AN EMPLOYEE of a fast food chain was robbed by two unidentified armed men on a motorcycle at Barangay 33, Bacolod City Monday night, November 13.

Chief Inspector Jovil Sedel, head of Police Station 6, said Ronald Guarino, 23, of Barangay Mansilingan, was on his way home at 6:30 p.m. when the assailants blocked his way and declared hold-up.

He was threatened at gun point.

Sedel said the victim failed to identify the robbers because they were wearing helmets and jackets.

The motorcycle driver’s companion carted away his cellular phone, automated teller machine (ATM) card, identification cards, and cash amounting to P1,200.

Teen girl robbed, hurt

A female teenager was injured after she was stoned by a man, who also robbed her, at Sitio Golingan, Barangay Biao, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental Friday, November 10.

Chief Inspector Anthony Grande, town police chief, said 18-year-old Ana Rose Zuniega, a Grade 10 student, was on her way home from school around noon when she decided to take a rest under a mango tree.

She was busy checking messages on her cellular phone when she was spotted by suspect Jerald Pacardo, 27, of Himamaylan City. The latter then threw stones at her.

Zuniega pretended to be dead while the suspect dragged her towards the sugarcane field.

She shouted for help but the suspect hit her with stone thrice that made her lose consciousness.

Grande said the suspect probably planned to sexually abuse the victim, but he ran when the victim shouted for help. He took her cellular phone.

The victim's sister found her in the middle of the sugarcane field past 3 p.m. She was rushed to a hospital due to head injuries.

The suspect was arrested in a hot pursuit operation and was positively identified by the victim.

He is facing robbery with frustrated homicide charges.
