CENTRAL Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) president Roy Cordova said they welcome any inquiry on the P232-million over billing of Kepco Salcon Power Corp. to the electric Cooperative.
“We welcome any inquiry on the matter and I will ask the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) that any hearing will be held here in Bacolod City,” he added.
The collection of the P232 million from the consumers was held in abeyance by the Ceneco board while waiting for clarification from ERC after the intervenors, including the Social Action Center filed a motion for reconsideration.
On September 14, KSPC in a letter informed Ceneco of the ERC’s decision dated June 27, 2017, stating the confirmation and provisional approval of load-factor rate, monthly reconciliation, and the authority to collect the differential billing worth P232 million.
The unpaid unaccepted contract quantity of 24 megawatts (MW) of Ceneco with KSPC covering the period of July 26, 2011 to November 25, 2013 will result to an additional charge of P0.8 per kilowatt hour (kWh).
The SAC will hold today, Nov. 23, an All Leaders Forum on the what they call as the P232-million overcontracting of power purchased by Ceneco, at Social Action Center of Bishop’s House.
