THREE toddlers died in a fire that destroyed their house at Purok Totong 4, Barangay Felisa in Bacolod City Thursday afternoon, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported.

Killed were Diloy siblings Arthur IV, 4; Ajericho Jr., 3; and Mary Auxencia, 2.

Fire Officer 3 Cornelio Silva, chief arson investigator of BFP-Bacolod, said the fire broke out at 5:36 p.m. while the children were left on their own by their father.

Silva said the children’s father Ajericho Diloy, 38, a village watchman, left the house around 2:45 p.m. after he brought home one of his children from school.

He left the three of them locked at home when he went back to the tanod post.

Diloy’s wife is working abroad.

The bodies of the two children were found near the front door while the other one was found inside the bedroom.

Silva said they have yet to know how the fire started.

The house was made of light materials. Damage was estimated at P30,000.

Investigation is ongoing.
