THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas seized an estimated P150,000 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in an alleged drug den in Purok Cagaycay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon.

The raid was conducted around 5:15 p.m. at the house of target subject Carlos Sonico, who was reportedly maintaining a drug den in the village, together with his minor-companion.

Aside from Sonico and the minor, also arrested were Kiefer Salnac, Wendyl Arsenio, Anthony Cadungo, Ernie Magbanua, Kerwin Hablero, and Wilfredo Diaz, who were inside the drug den.

In a PDEA report, 25 sachets of shabu weighing 30 grams, drug paraphernalia, and cash amounting to P2,628 were recovered from the eight suspects.

Charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), Section 6 (maintenance of drug den), Section 7 (visiting drug den), Sections 11 and 12 (possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia), and Section 15 (use of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against them.
