3 yield P150,000 worth of shabu

Tuesday, February 13, 2018

THREE persons were arrested after they yielded an estimated P150,000 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in a drug bust on 6th Lacson Street in Bacolod City on February 12.

Police identified the suspects as target-subject Arnold Elorde, 39, of Las Piñas City; Analyn Senorio, 49; and Ma. Emily Yulo, 50, both residents of Fortune Towne, Barangay Estefania in Bacolod.

Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias Jr., head of Police Station 2, said the three were on board a Suzuki Celerio when they had a transaction with a police agent around 3:30 p.m.

Police recovered from them five sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), a weighing scale, and the P1,000 marked money.

All suspects were detained at the station for filing of charges for violation of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), and 26 (conspiracy) of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Villarias said the illegal drugs were allegedly being sourced from the Metro Bacolod District Jail-Special Intensive Care Area (MBDJ-Sica) in Barangay Taculing, but the report has yet to be confirmed.

“Someone is providing the items to the suspects through the approval of somebody from the jail like Senorio’s husband, who was also charged for illegal drugs,” he added.

Villarias said they are continuously investigating the allegations of the suspects, who were considered newly-identified drug runners.

Meanwhile, seven drug suspects were arrested in separate operations in Negros Occidental.

In E.B. Magalona town, Rey Art Limbang, 25, of Barangay Nanca, a drug surrenderer; and newly-identified drug personalities Ronie Parcon, 20, of Barangay Cudangdang; and Rodel Perono, 29, of Victorias City, were arrested after they were caught holding a “pot session” on Monday.

Volunteers of Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team found them in a sugarcane field in Banga Punong, Hacienda Teresa, Barangay Alicante around 1:30 a.m.

Police recovered from the three suspects a sachet of shabu worth P300, drug paraphernalia, P250 in cash, and a motorcycle.

On Sunday, Hazel Gomez, 31, of Barangay Banago, Bacolod City, a newly-identified a street level target drug suspect; Stephen Villarosa, 27, of Barangay Mandalagan; and Gino Mendoza, 31, of Talisay City, were collared in a drug bust around 12:40 a.m. in Sitio Sibucao in Barangay Banago.

Gomez sold shabu to a police agent for P500, while Villarosa and Mendoza were caught possessing a sachet of shabu and an improvised tooter inside Gomez’s house.

Police further confiscated from them a sachet of shabu and drug paraphernalia.

Last Saturday, Michael Belonio, 35, of Talisay City, was arrested in a drug bust in Barangay Zone 5 around 3:10 a.m. Recovered from him were five sachets of shabu, an improvised tooter, and the P300 marked money.
