THE reshuffling of the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) regional and district directors did not affect NBI-Bacolod head Atty. Mamerto Cortez.
Cortez said that only he, along with the head of the NBI-Dagupan office, was the only district head that was not affected by the reshuffling.

Unlike the NBI regional directors, district heads do not have the minimum tour of duty. Cortez has been the NBI-Bacolod head for more than three years now.
The new NBI regional Director Atty. Elfren Menesis Jr. was installed August 15. Former NBI regional Director Atty. Mario Sison was re-assigned to Caraga, Butuan.
Cortez assured Negrenses that he will continue performing his duties in solving crimes and conflicts referred to his office.
