BACOLOD City Police Office (BCPO) chief Ricardo De la Paz on Thursday welcomed the support of the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) to BCPO personnel in improving the anti criminality campaign in the city.
MBCCI vice president Jose Ma. Zayco on Thursday said that they will extend their support to BCPO’s anti criminality campaign, after BCPO launched Wednesday the motorized anti street crime operatives (Masco) unit.
Zayco added the Masco unit can effectively and immediately respond to incidents of snatching, theft, pick-pocketing and hold-up in the different areas in the city.
To enable Masco to immediately respond street crimes, Zayco stressed that it needs logistical support, particularly fuel.
MBCCI is contemplating to encourage other business sectors in the city to support Masco’s fuel needs, Zayco said. He added that the business sectors and every citizen should support the Philippine National Police (PNP) in its drive to maintain the peace and order in Bacolod.
Zayco stressed that he believes in the leadership of De la Paz, citing that since De la Paz assumed office as acting chief of BCPO, police visibility greatly improved.
De la Paz lauded MBCCI’s support. “It will inspire our personnel to the members of the PNP to perform their duties very well and to double our efforts,” he said.
